Report from the 12th Annual HiCN Workshop “Violent Conflict, Resilience and Agriculture: From Emergency to Development”

On 24-25 October 2016, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Households in Conflict Network (HiCN) organised a joint conference in Rome, on the impact of violent conflict on the welfare, resilience and behaviour of individuals, households and communities. The workshop brought together various researchers from universities and institutes from eight countries. Eighteen papers were presented throughout six sessions, namely on Conflict in Central Africa, Conflict and Health & Education, Conflict and Food Security, Extremism and Food Security, Violence, Conflicts and Interventions, and Climate and Migration Trends.
HiCN Co-Directors Tilman Brück and Philip Verwimp and HiCN Affiliates Maarten Voors and Mansoob Murshed presented papers at the conference.
