Conflict Research Design Platform Design of micro level research, instruments and methods in conflict affected settings The Households in Conflict Network would like to stimulate the discussion on the design of research in conflict affected settings. In workshops, seminars and conferences, we sense a great deal of interest in a platform where the design of research, research questions and field research methods can be discussed. The Conflict Research Design Platform is a forum to discuss the value, strengths, limitations, weaknesses and scope of the methods, the approaches and instruments used in past, present or new research projects. In short, HiCN would like this Platform to become a marketplace to discuss the design of research and the evaluation of existing approaches. The Platform will feature relatively short contributions - 10 pages or less - discussing a topic, proposing a new research instrument or criticising an existing approach. The Conflict Research Design Platform allows us to share these discussions more widely and to learn from each other. HiCN will publish contributions by its affiliates as numbered "HiCN Research Design Notes" on this Platform. This gives credit to a contributor and allows proper referencing. The "HiCN Research Design Notes" are edited by the HiCN Co-Directors. Contributions should be sent to the Network Facilitator (info@hicn.org).
